Energy Saving Analysis of LED High Bay Light Replacing Traditional High Bay Light

一.Real Case analysis

Liuzhou Shun Chi Machinery Co., Ltd. current lighting status

A plant has traditional high bay light 164 sets, B plants has 49 sets. To be accurate, we conducted a survey of the lamps. Results as below.

Plant A has 56 sets of 250W, 108 sets of 400W traditional high bay light

Plant B has 49 sets of 250W.

In total 105 sets of 250W, 108 sets of 400W.

In the evening we have done the illumination test in Plant A and Plant B.

Plant A illumination value is 50-57 lux, when tested 0.75 meters from the ground.

Plant B illumination value is 90-95 lux, both do not meet the state's illumination value.

Rough machining of industrial construction machinery, illumination level of 0.75 meters requires 200 lux.There are following reasons that not meets the national lighting standards.

1. The existing high bay lamp has been used for many years, very serious light decay;

2. There are several lights do not work,no timely replacement;

3. The installation distance between the lamps is too far, the lights can not hit.

二.LED high bay lamp to replace the traditional high bay light solution

1. Replace all the old type high bays to led high bays. Old type 250W changed to 120W led high bay, 400W old type high bay replaced to 200W led high bay.

2. Lighting installation interval larger area, need to increase the lighting. The original use of 250-watt high bay lamp area, two lights horizontal spacing should be about 5 meters, 4 meters vertical spacing.

400-watt high bay lamp using the area, the two lights horizontal spacing should be about 6 meters, vertical spacing of about 5 meters.

3. The specific solution to increase lighting as follows:

1) Suggest A plant to increase 52 sets 120W led high bay light to replace old type 250W high bay lamps.

2) Suggest B plant to increase 98 sets 120W led high bay light to replace old type 250W high bay lamps.

1. Comparison of electricity costs

 

Next, we do the traditional high bay lamp and LED high bay lamp lighting comparative analysis. Assuming that the average daily use of 16 hours (day and night lights turn 8 hours), electricity in accordance with 1 RMB / degree estimate, according to 300 days a year Sunday day and holidays). So estimated, come to the annual lighting time.

16*300=4800 hours

400 watt traditional high bay lamp replaced by 200-watt LED high bay lamp, electricity savings is 124,416 RMB per year. And the entire plant illumination and lighting effect will be significantly improved.

 

250-watt traditional high bay lamp replaced with 120-watt LED high bay lamp, due to the addition of 150 sets of lamps, electricity did not reduce, but an increase of 8280 RMB, but the overall plant illumination will be substantially improved, better lighting effect.

(四) Input / Output Benefit Analysis of Lamp Replacement

Through the above comparative analysis, we can draw the following conclusions:

1. After replacing the traditional high bay lamp, the first year is unable to recover the investment cost through the saved electricity cost. Mainly due to the increase of 150 sets of lamps and  increases the lamp purchase cost and the expenditure on electricity. The total cost of the item is: 293,400 RMB.

2. Although the initial investment increased by more than 400,000RMB, but the lighting effects of the entire plant in the transformation will be greatly improved. The work of illumination and brightness will be significantly improved, will promote the work efficiency of workers, will reduce  the risk of defective products which caused by not enough illumination.

In conclusion

So it can save 348408 RMB electricity bills after 3 years when changing to led high bays.

In conclusion

Five years after adopting LED high bay light, not only all the investment can be recovered, but also can generate  39,780 RMB. That’s because we have added 150 PCS 120-watt lamps, if not add lamps, the investment recovery period will be greatly shortened.

Payback period:

 1, Through the above comparative analysis, if the traditional high bay light is replaced by LED high bay light and 150 sets of 120W LED high bay light are added, the investment recovery period will be about 5 years or 60 months.                                                                                                                                                                                      

2, if do not increase 150 sets 

Set of 120-watt LED high bay lamp, annual expenditure of 86,400 RMB less electricity, but also less expenditure 207,000 RMB lamp purchase costs, then the investment recovery period will be: lighting purchasing costs / year

Power saving cost = 333900/202536 = 1. 648 years, about 20 months, 40 months shorter than the former, but the lighting effect will be worse, because some areas are not enough lighting, illumination is also difficult to achieve national standards.

In summary, we can draw the following conclusions: 

1, LED lighting relative to the traditional lamp has a very significant energy efficiency, the use of LED lamps to replace the traditional lamps of the initial investment, although increased, but after the replacement will be in a relatively short period of time

Within the cost savings by saving electricity costs. The earlier replaced, the earlier to enjoy energy efficiency.

2, LED lighting excellent energy-saving performance is to replace the best choice for high bay lamps, tightening in the global environment, governments at all levels to vigorously promote energy-saving environmental protection under the conditions, LED lighting to replace the traditional lamps will certainly be the trend of the times, promising.
